Maury Yeston

Maury Yeston is a composer, lyricist, author, and teacher and has written for the concert, Broadway and off-Broadway stages. He has also held various university teaching and administrative posts, and has published extensively as a music theorist. Concert: An American Cantata: 2000 Voices; for Orchestra, Double Mixed Choir, Boys Choir and Gospel Chorus (Kennedy Center Commission, National Symphony Orchestra, Leonard Slatkin Conductor, April 2000), December Songs (song cycle, Centennial Year Commission by Carnegie Hall), Concerto for Cello and Orchestra (Premiere, Yo Yo Ma, Norwalk Symphony, Gilbert Levine Conductor, 1976). Broadway: Titanic (Tony Award 1997: Best Score, Best Musical, Grammy Nomination).
