Baritone, trumpeter and bandleader, Vaughn Monroe was born in Akron, Ohio on October 7, 1911.
A radio star in the 1940s and 50s, Monroe and His Orchestra charted 52 pop hits including the #1 recordings of There I Go (1940), My Devotion (1942), When the Lights Go On Again (All Over the World) (1942), Lets Get Lost (1943), There! Ive Said it Again (1945), Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow! (1945), Ballerina (1947), Riders in the Sky (A Cowboy Legend) (1949) and Someday (1949).
Vaughn Monroe died on May 21, 1973 at the age of 61.
