Popular sweet bandleader, George Olsen was born on March 18, 1893 in Portland, Oregon. With featured vocalists Fran Frey and Ethel Shutta, Olsen and His Orchestra played in several hit Broadway musicals including Sunny.
Singing with Victor Records in 1924, the band released nearly 50 top twenty pop hits including the #1 recordings of Who? (1926), At Sundown (When Love is Calling Me Home) (1927), A Precious Little Thing Called Love (1930), Lullaby of the Leaves (1932), Say It Isnt So (1932) and The Last Round-Up (1933).
George Olsen died on March 18, 1971 on his 78th birthday.
